A Little Tip for Hungry City Council Members

Re “$32 Lunch Tab? To Some, That’s Hard to Swallow,” Sept. 20: A Mission Viejo councilwoman gets caught cooking the books -- meaning that she added her husband’s meal to the tab when taking out a planning commissioner and asked the taxpayers to pick up the cost. How refreshing that there’s one City Council that’s keeping its eyes on the cost of running its city.
Considering the amount of money that was being discussed -- $10 -- this might seem unimportant in the scheme of the way cities are run today. But L.A. City Council members should take note. If all of them were as careful about their expenditures, you can bet we’d all be saving money in the long run. I say kudos to the Mission Viejo council members and shame on you, Councilwoman Gail Reavis.
