Jane Monheit: The singer’s two-week stint at Feinstein’s, which features a salute to the great MGM musicals, enters its final weekend. Monheit first achieved national prominence when she was named first runner-up at the 1998 Thelonious Monk Vocal Competition. The panel of judges (Dee Dee Bridgewater, Nneena Freelon, Diana Krall, Dianne Reeves and the late Joe Williams) realized that despite her youth (20 at the time) Monheit was something special. Since then, she’s recorded three acclaimed studio CDs and earlier this year released “Live at the Rainbow Room.”
Ends Saturday at Feinstein’s at the Cinegrill, Roosevelt Hotel, 7000 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood.
