Federal Official Fired, Held in Cancun Killings

Mexico’s attorney general’s office fired its representative in Cancun and took him into custody, charged along with a group of suspects in connection with the killings of nine people, including three federal agents.
Miguel Angel Hernandez was among a group of suspects flown to Mexico City, Atty. Gen. Rafael Macedo de la Concha said. Another suspect was Felipe de Jesus Arguelles, who oversees Cancun’s police.
Jose Luis Santiago Vasconcelos, Mexico’s top drug prosecutor, said rival drug traffickers also are suspects.
