A police officer was placed on paid administrative leave Tuesday, pending a review of his fatal shooting of a woman outside a grocery store in the 3900 block of Chicago Avenue.
Authorities said Officer Ryan Wilson fired several rounds at the woman Monday night after she rammed him with her car.
Police said the woman, whose name has not been released, was angry with Wilson because he responded to a call concerning an attempted check forgery and fought with the suspect, Christopher Steven Grotness, 32, of Riverside.
Grotness was arrested. Wilson was treated at a hospital and released.
