Ex-Prosecutor to Lead Probe of Councilman

Former Assistant U.S. Atty. Joseph Burton will lead an investigation into allegations that San Jose City Councilman Terry Gregory demanded free meals, gifts and charitable donations from local executives.
Burton, now in private practice after prosecuting white-collar criminals in the Silicon Valley for 11 years, met for the first time Monday with the City Council’s ethics task force.
