Bush Is Biggest Threat to Social Security
- Share via
Re “Bush Extols Private Retirement Accounts,” Dec. 21: The only crisis that Social Security faces is being plundered by a president who has turned a budget surplus into one of the largest deficits ever, whose administration has repeatedly granted tax benefits and other financial benefits to his wealthy benefactors at the expense of working Americans and who relies on and rewards people whose blunders have cost hundreds of lives and billions of dollars in Iraq.
Any “fix” by his administration can be expected to be wasteful, mismanaged, a hardship on the disabled, survivors and retired Americans who rely on the benefit programs, and a boon to rich Wall Street insiders.
