Five Held in Slaying of ‘Dirty War’ Witness

Five people were arrested in the November slaying of a key witness in Mexico’s investigation of its “dirty war” of decades ago, prosecutors in the rural state of Guerrero revealed, but they said the killing was motivated by personal disputes.
The five were charged with killing Zacarias Barrientos, a peasant farmer who was working with officials investigating past government repression, the state prosecutor’s office said.
