Southern Mississippi used a 17-3 run in the second half to upset No. 21 Marquette, 83-61, in a Conference USA game Friday at Green Bay, Wis. The Golden Eagles (11-4, 2-2) also lost at home to No. 10 Cincinnati on Wednesday night.
Southern Mississippi (9-6, 2-2) was technically the home team, although it was playing 1,100 miles from home.
School officials said the game was moved to the campus of Wisconsin Green Bay because of its close connection to Green Bay Packer quarterback Brett Favre. But Favre was at home in Hattiesburg, Miss., and never planned to attend the game.
