BOYS’ BASKETBALL
* Josh Shipp, L.A. Fairfax: Scored a career-high 46 points and had five steals for the No. 2 Lions in a 100-49 Western League victory over L.A. Hamilton.
* Arron Afflalo, Compton Centennial: Set a career high with 43 points, making seven three-pointers, and had 12 rebounds for the No. 5 Apaches.
* Abraham Venegas, L.A. Wilson: Had a career-high 30 points and seven three-pointers in an 84-59 Northern League victory over L.A. Lincoln.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
* Lasandra Dixon, Azusa: Had 26 points in a 58-32 Montview League victory over Covina Gladstone.
* Michelle Kribell, Anaheim Western: Finished with 34 points and 24 rebounds in a 63-36 Orange League victory over Anaheim Magnolia.
BOYS’ SOCCER
* Towa Manda, Fountain Valley: Scored his eighth goal of the season in the eighth minute in a 1-0 Sunset League victory over Huntington Beach Marina. The shutout was the 10th of the season for the No. 2 Barons, who trail Huntington Beach Edison by two points in the league standings.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
* Monica Storm, Chino Hills Ayala: Scored on a penalty kick in the 22nd minute and had the game-winner off an assist by Amanda Gray in the 65th minute in a 3-2 Sierra League victory over Chino. Gray added the other goal.
GIRLS’ WATER POLO
* Monique Blanchard, Riverside Poly: Had four goals in an 8-7 first-round Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions victory over No. 4 Montebello.
