Elections Officials Won’t Use List Aimed at Felons

Florida elections officials said they would not use a disputed list designed to keep felons from voting, acknowledging a flaw that could have allowed Hispanic felons to cast ballots in November.
The decision came after a report that the list had few people identified as Hispanic; of the nearly 48,000 people on the list created by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, only 61 were classified as Hispanic.
The flaw could have been significant for President Bush -- Hispanics in Florida tend to vote Republican.
