SAN DIEGO
Three middle school students on trial for plotting to murder their teacher struck a plea bargain after a San Diego judge refused to suppress one defendant’s confession.
The two 14-year-olds and one 13-year-old changed their pleas Thursday from not guilty to guilty of conspiracy to commit murder.
Prosecutors dropped all of the other charges against the boys, including attempted murder and weapons offenses, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Doug Rose.
The three boys were arrested in March after bringing a semiautomatic gun to Palm Middle School in the San Diego suburb of Lemon Grove.
