A Sweet Tactic to Stop Drunken Brawls

Police in Bournemouth, England, are countering drunken brawlers outside the seaside town’s bars with bars of another sort. Not the prison kind -- the chocolate kind.
Police are handing out the candy to late-night revelers as they leave bars and clubs this weekend.
“The reason for most alcohol-related violence in Bournemouth is that people get frustrated, then aggressive, waiting for either food or a taxi home,” said police constable Ian Curtis. He hopes the chocolate will distract people from causing trouble.
