Mortgage rates climb above 6%

Rates on 30-year mortgages rose for the sixth consecutive week, climbing above 6% last week for the first time this year. The average rate on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages was 6.01%, up from 5.94% the week before and the highest since 6.02% the week of Dec. 5, Freddie Mac said.
Rates for 15-year, fixed-rate mortgages averaged 5.35%, up from 5.25% the previous week. For one-year adjustable rate mortgages, rates averaged 3.75%, up from 3.69%.
