BOYS’ TRACK AND FIELD
A strong performance in the Moore League finals Friday helped Long Beach Poly vault over Compton Dominguez in these rankings, but it wasn’t enough to move the Jackrabbits ahead of City Section title favorite Los Angeles Dorsey. Simi Valley Royal, paced by 800-meter runner Bryan Rodie and pole vaulter Josh Lubeck, appears in the rankings for the first time this season.

GIRLS’ TRACK AND FIELD
Long Beach Poly appears headed to its second consecutive state title after turning in impressive performances at the Moore League finals Friday. Freshman Ebony Williams was sensational for Long Beach Wilson in that meet, but the Bruins’ state-title hopes took a hit when sprinter Carol Rodriguez did not compete because of health issues. Rancho Cucamonga, led by freshman Sade Williams, reappears in the rankings.

With Mission Viejo’s loss to San Clemente in the South Coast League championships, the Diablos drop behind Irvine and San Clemente heading into this week’s Southern Section Division I finals. Lake Forest El Toro, fourth in the South Coast League, drops out of the rankings in favor of third-place finisher Mission Viejo Trabuco Hills.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL
San Clemente’s reign lasted only until its first match as the No. 1 team, as it lost to Lake Forest El Toro. Westlake Village Westlake takes over the top spot for the first time this season. Manhattan Beach Mira Costa beat Redondo in five games to share the Bay League title with the Seahawks. Newport Harbor took its second five-game victory over Irvine Woodbridge to win the Sea View League title.

For the first time this season, there’s a shakeup at No. 1. Playing without its top two singles players, Corona del Mar lost to Irvine Northwood, 10-8, in a Pacific Coast League regular-season finale Thursday. North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake, which spent the season at either No. 2 or No. 3, jumps into the top spot.
