There are three ways to reach Supai village on the Havasupai Reservation at the west end of the Grand Canyon, home to “the people of the blue-green water”: on foot, by horseback or by helicopter. My friends and I decided to travel the eight miles on foot to enjoy each step of the journey. Sharp blue skies and red cliffs with ancient strata frame the rocky creek bed of the trail. At the bottom of the canyon are waterfalls, aqua pools and one of the loveliest campgrounds I’ve seen.
