Cabbie Freed, Inquiry Continues

A cab driver who had been arrested on suspicion of raping an intoxicated passenger was released from jail Thursday after prosecutors declined to file charges against him, officials said.
Rodney Cornell Carter, 42, of Cathedral City, was released from the Orange County Jail pending an investigation, officials said.
Friends of the 36-year-old Placentia woman called for a cab to take her to a home in Costa Mesa, police said. The friends later found the woman, partially nude, in the cab’s back seat and unaware of what had happened.
