Supreme Court Halts Killer’s Execution Again

For the second time this year, the U.S. Supreme Court postponed the execution of a man convicted of murdering a robbery victim nearly 20 years ago.
About 40 minutes after Troy Kunkle, 38, could have received a lethal injection in Huntsville, state officials received word the high court had blocked the execution. It also blocked his execution in July.
Kunkle’s lawyers argued that the execution should be stopped in light of a recent high court ruling that found that some capital murder defendants in Texas were not given enough chance to present mitigating evidence.
