Port Panel Discusses Challenge Over Bids

The city’s port commissioners met privately Tuesday to discuss a court challenge from a major shipping firm over a prime terminal site.
In a legal filing last week, P&O; Nedlloyd Container Line protested what it called the port’s preference for Evergreen Marine. P&O; Nedlloyd is challenging the Sept. 29 decision by port interim Executive Director Bruce Seaton to throw out bids for berths 206-209, including those from Nedlloyd and Evergreen.
