NEW YORK CITY — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Tuesday endorsed Anaheim’s bid to host the 2008 Republican National Convention, saying that a California convention would help bring business to the state.
“I hope they have it in California. It would be terrific,” Schwarzenegger told reporters.
“They want to have it in Anaheim -- that’s fine with me,” though he added that San Francisco would be a “great” site as well.
Anaheim is seeking both the Democratic and Republican conventions in 2008. Competition is expected to come from Atlanta, Detroit and Tampa, Fla.
