Ganster, Going for Win No. 25, Is One to Beat

Ganster, one of the hardest-knocking horses in the history of this track, will try for his 25th lifetime victory in tonight’s seventh race, a $7,950 starter allowance at 350 yards.

Owned and trained by Paul Jones, the 11-year-old gray gelding has earned his 24 victories in 86 starts. He has been second or third on 29 other occasions and has earned more than $258,000.

Despite his advanced age, the California-bred son of Chicks Beduino shows no signs of slowing down. In 2004, he has won four times in seven starts, including a victory in his last appearance Aug. 8.
