Yolanda Griffith scored 18 points and paced a balanced attack to lead the Sacramento Monarchs to a 73-65 victory over the host Seattle Storm on Wednesday.
Seattle played without 2003 WNBA MVP Lauren Jackson, who returned to her native Australia to visit her seriously ill grandmother.
Charlotte 62, Connecticut 55 -- Dawn Staley scored 12 points and recorded the 1,000th assist of her career to lead the Sting over the Sun at Charlotte, N.C.
Indiana 75, Washington 58 -- Tamika Catchings scored 16 points with seven assists and six rebounds to help the Fever end a six-game losing streak with a victory over the Mystics at Washington.
Minnesota 72, Houston 64 -- Nicole Ohlde scored 16 points at Houston as the Lynx improved to 3-0 against the Comets this year. Sheryl Swoopes scored 22 points for Houston.
Phoenix 63, Detroit 58 -- Anna DeForge and Plennete Pierson each scored 16 points to lift the Mercury over the Shock at Auburn Hills, Mich.
