Man Drinking a Beer Is Shot to Death

A man in his 20s was shot dead Monday while drinking a beer on a sidewalk in Inglewood, police said.
An assailant emerged from a brown or gray sport utility vehicle and approached the man in the 900 block of North Inglewood Avenue about 11:30 a.m. before shooting him in the head and buttocks, said Sgt. John Knapp.
The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital.
