West Nile Cited in Woman’s Death

An 86-year-old Riverside County woman who became ill with the West Nile virus last month has become the 12th person in the state to die of the mosquito-borne illness, officials said.
The woman’s name and address were not released.
State officials have confirmed 438 cases of West Nile and said many more people probably have not realized they were infected because their symptoms were minor.
Elderly people and those with weakened immune systems are most at risk.
