From a Times Staff Writer
Tenet Healthcare Corp. said it agreed to sell its 225-bed Midway Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles for about $10 million to a group of local physicians.
The Santa Barbara company is divesting itself of 27 hospitals, including 19 in California, in hopes of turning around its weak balance sheet.
The buyers are Physicians of Midway Inc., a group of doctors who have worked at the hospital. The group said it planned to keep open the hospital’s emergency room and acute-care facility.
