Will Angels Really Play the Name Game?

Gene Autry established a fan base for the Angels throughout Southern California (from San Diego to Santa Barbara) with his mighty KMPC radio and KTLA TV stations. I’ve known longtime Angel fans in the San Fernando Valley who hate the Dodgers, as I’m sure there are Dodger fans in Orange County who don’t care for the Angels.
The Disney Co. saw the Anaheim Angels as a “small-market team” (in order to receive revenue sharing from the Yankees and other “large-market teams”) and conceded everything north of the OC border to the Dodgers.
Thankfully, Arte Moreno has a larger vision for the Angels. The Los Angeles Angels? Why stop there? Give me back my California Angels!
