Just go with the flow in Europe

Regarding “Ins and Outs of Driving in Europe,” Letters, Aug. 29: What is it with Americans and roundabouts? It is all so simple: Give way to traffic already in the roundabout, and filter in when safe. Basically, you rarely stop in light to medium traffic, and only long enough to filter in with heavier traffic. This eliminates stopping at almost every traffic light, so common in Los Angeles.
Roundabouts result in better traffic flow, higher fuel mileage, less pollution and less stress. All it takes is a little familiarization.
