Operatic oak undulations

Regarding “Adrenaline-Free Zone” (Sept. 14): California’s magical oaks, more than any other species, oddly resemble upturned human torsos, and their undulating boughs evoke an operatic metaphor. Oaks are truly cosmic, communicative and holy, and writer Thomas Curwen captured that.
