Re “Fleeing Fire Was All Part of Plan,” July 7
May I thank everyone involved in safely evacuating more than 1,500 children camping in the San Bernardino Mountains? My daughter was at Camp Round Meadow with the YMCA. In a few short hours, camp counselors, law enforcement, forestry officials and firefighters located and deployed enough rescue vehicles to carry everyone to safety. Local businesses provided food and supplies. This event was not a tragedy and will not get international press but, because it did not, it should. Thank you to everyone for bringing my daughter and hundreds of others safely home.
