China’s secular saints

Re “Loving Others’ Rejects,” July 27
Congratulation to Ching-Ching Ni for providing the most powerful, heartwarming article of generosity and human compassion I’ve ever read. Chen Shangyi and Zhang Lanying stand out as world-class role models for humanitarian benevolence. Living far below anyone’s poverty level in China, they have given of themselves and provided innocent abandoned children with love, hope and a home. Chen and Zhang are, indeed, secular saints.
