It was a Cinderella story, Capitol Hill-style. Starring as Prince Charming, freshman Rep. Dave Reichert (R-Wash.) dropped to his knees in the midst of a Washington news conference and handed over a beige, leather slingback shoe that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi lost during Wednesday’s evacuation of Congress.
The evacuation was prompted by a small plane that strayed into restricted airspace. Reichert found the California Democrat’s shoe on a stair.
