Alleged Mob Instigator Held in Agents’ Deaths

A woman accused of being one of the main instigators of a mob that killed two federal agents last year was taken into custody, Mexican officials said.
Guadalupe Perez faces charges of homicide and causing injury. In November, two agents were burned alive and a third was nearly beaten to death by a crowd on the outskirts of Mexico City. The killings were broadcast live on television and prompted widespread criticism of authorities for failing to arrive in time.
Residents said they thought the agents were kidnappers. Many Mexican police have been caught taking part in kidnappings across Mexico.
