Police arrested nine men this week in a sting designed to stop the sale of fake government documents in the city’s Five Points neighborhood.
On Thursday, four detectives went undercover in the area after residents said they had been approached by men selling phony documents, including Social Security cards, driver’s licenses and green cards, officials said.
Most of them were charged with trying to sell or manufacture false documents. Several are illegal immigrants and may be deported, officials said.
