New Hollywood Business Model May Limit Piracy

The root cause of all of this [DVD] piracy is Hollywood’s flawed business model (“The Piracy Price Wars,” May 15). It’s what you get with an industry controlled by too few people and ego. Hollywood lacks creativity and business sense in making and marketing its product. They rely too heavily on protectionist practice, and if it weren’t for their strong lobby, they would probably adapt and be stronger than they are now.
Hollywood needs to clean house and monumentally change the way they do business.
