Oilers Win Fifth in a Row

Jarrett Stoll had his first two-goal game and added two assists Friday night at St. Louis to help the Edmonton Oilers win their fifth consecutive game and hand the Blues their seventh consecutive loss, 7-2.
It is the longest losing streak for the Blues (2-8-3) since they dropped seven in a row from Feb. 12 to Feb. 25, 1989.
The Oilers have outscored opponents, 25-9, during their streak -- their longest since a five-game run from March 14 to March 22, 2002.
Stoll scored his first goal 1:45 into the game, on the Oilers’ first shot.
Montreal 3, Buffalo 2 -- Niklas Sundstrom scored with just under three minutes left to help the Canadiens improve to an NHL-best 6-0-1 on the road.
Sundstrom deflected Steve Begin’s shot from the right point, beating goalie Martin Biron.
Dallas 9, Chicago 1 -- Stu Barnes capped a hat trick with a short-handed goal at Dallas. The game was so lopsided that when the Stars scored their sixth goal, the Blackhawks had taken six shots -- none of them going in.
Vancouver 5, Columbus 3 -- Anson Carter scored the eventual winning goal 2:23 into the third period at Vancouver. The Blue Jackets played without star forward Rick Nash, who suffered a sprained knee Thursday.
Washington 3, Atlanta 2 -- Alex Ovechkin scored the only shootout goal, giving the Capitals the victory at Washington.
