Console games beat PC varieties hands down

Re “The New Player in Pro Sports,” Column One, Nov. 19

Please let me know how you can justify saying PC games require a higher level of skill than console games. You may want to consider some of the following facts:

* The PC segment of the gaming industry is the only one that continually shrinks year after year.

* PCs are designed primarily for e-mail and word processing. Consoles are designed to play games.

* All PCs are not created alike. Installing faster memory and accelerated video cards provide advantages to one PC over another. With console-to-console gaming, all players are on a more level field -- skill is paramount.
