Two people in a car and a California Highway Patrol officer were shot and wounded after a high-speed chase ended in San Bernardino on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
Few details were immediately available about the incident, which a spokesman at the CHP’s Inland Division office said began in Banning and ended just off the 10 Freeway near Waterman Avenue and Hospitality Lane.
He did not know the conditions of the people in the car or officer, but television footage showed two bodies covered with tarps.
The CHP officer was being treated for his wounds. His condition was not known.
