The Huntington Harbour bay water area in Huntington Beach was closed Monday night by the Orange County Health Care Agency’s Environmental Health Division.
A sewage spill, which was caused by a cracked force main, is blamed for the closure.
The agency said the affected bay water will remain closed to ocean water-contact sports, including swimming, surfing and diving, until follow-up results of water-quality monitoring meet acceptable standards.
Huntington Harbor was also closed a day last August due to a sewage spill.
