Laguna Beach marks Memorial Day with ceremony followed by free concert on Main Beach

Several special patriotic events were held over Memorial Day weekend in Orange County to commemorate the nation‘s war dead, including one Monday morning in Laguna Beach’s Heisler Park organized by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5868.
Laguna Beach Mayor Sue Kempf delivered remarks during the ceremony at Monument Point, which was decorated in red, white and blue.

The Laguna Beach Community Jazz and Concert bands performed Monday at Main Beach. Their offerings included Latin, rock, pop and big band music before transitioning into more patriotic songs by the early afternoon.
The concert Monday was presented at no charge.
