Car bursts into flames after crash

A pair of drunk drivers ended up in a fiery crash in Newport Beach just after 3 a.m. Saturday, authorities said.

Two vehicle collided near West Coast Highway near Prospect Street and one of them ended up flipping over and bursting into flames, according to the Newport Beach Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to put out the blaze, and police arrested the occupants of both cars on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Nobody was hurt in the crash, according to police.

Names of the drivers were not immediately available because of the large number of arrests being processed from the Fourth of July weekend, police said.
