A man walked into Fidelity Federal Bank on Westcliff Drive in Newport
Beach on Tuesday afternoon and announced he was there to rob the branch.
Although the bank robber did not show a weapon, he left with the money
from one teller’s drawer, said Sgt. Steve Shulman of the Newport Beach
Police Department.
Police describe the bank robber as being in his late 20s or early 30s,
between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-6. Witnesses said he was wearing black jeans,
a black baseball cap, black wraparound sunglasses and a brown and white
flannel shirt over a white T-shirt.
He left the bank on foot through the south doors in an unknown
direction.
