reported at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday.

* James Street: An auto theft was reported in the 700 block at 6:56

a.m. Tuesday.

* Wallace Avenue: An assault was reported in the 1800 block at 6:46

p.m. Tuesday.

* West 17th Street: A grand theft was reported in the 900 block at

2:15 p.m. Tuesday.

NEWPORT BEACH

* Bayview Place: One ton of shrubbery and palm tree trimmings were

reportedly dumped in the rear parking lot of Kitayama Japanese Restaurant

at 10:28 a.m. Monday.

* Plaza Del Norte: Property worth about $5,000 was reported stolen in

the 1700 block at 9:03 a.m. Monday.

* West Coast Highway: Sale of narcotics was reported in the 2300 block

at 1:55 a.m. Monday.
