Seacliff awaits CdM singles, doubles

COSTA MESA - Corona del Mar High’s doubles team of Brian Morton and
Garrett Snyder, as well as singles standout Cameron Ball, swept away the
opposition at the CIF Individual Regionals Saturday at Costa Mesa Tennis
Club, setting up berths in the Rounds of 16 Friday at SeaCliff Country
Club in Huntington Beach.
Morton and Snyder, seeded No. 1 in doubles, had a bye, then squashed
Bolsa Grande’s Gonzaga-Chau, 6-0, 6-0, and Sunny Hills’ Lee-Shu, 6-1,
6-0.
Ball, unseeded in singles, drew a bye, then belted Savanna High’s
Felix Lu, 6-0, 6-1, and Beverly Hills’ Garrett Leight, 6-0, 6-1.
Corona del Mar’s other doubles team, Peter Kulmaticki and Michael
Bean, also had a bye in the first round and rolled in the second round
with a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Santa Ana’s Sanchez-Reyes, but fell in the
third round to Los Alamitos’ O’Bradovitch and Wood, 4-6, 4-6.
Friday’s play at Huntington Beach Seacliff in 16s and quarterfinals
will start at 1 p.m.
The semifinals and finals are at the same site, starting at 10:30 a.m.
