SATURDAY
Old World Village is celebrating Oktoberfest with food, games and
music. The festivities will take place Wednesday through Sunday and run
through Oct. 28 at the village, 7561 Center Ave. Wednesdays and Thursdays
are family nights with free admission, 6:30 to 11 p.m. Fridays and
Saturdays are 21 and over, $10 admission (6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.) On Sundays
admission is $3.50 and children 12 and under are free. (2 to 7:30 p.m.)
There will be an Oktoberfest Parade at 2 p.m. on Sept. 30.
SUNDAYThe Huntington Beach Central Park Equestrian Center is
hosting the Richland Junior Posse of Compton fund-raiser. The main event
will be the Haunted Jamin’ Gymkana, a horse show in which riders compete
in classes for prizes and ribbons. There will be a barbecue, a silent
auction and raffles. Money will benefit Richland Farms, which provides
equestrian-related activities for inner-city children. Attendees pay a $5
fee to pay for a rider to take a class.
