Man accused of grabbing teen girl
Costa Mesa Police are looking for a man who they say grabbed a
14-year-old Estancia High School student Tuesday morning as she was
walking to school, officials said.
The girl was walking through an alley behind the 2200 block of
Pomona Avenue at about 7:35 a.m. when a man pulled over in a car,
reached his hand out of the window, grabbed her and asked her if she
wanted to go for a ride, Lt. Dale Birney said.
The girl managed to get away, he said. Police do not have detailed
identification of the man, but Birney said he is believed to be
between 30 and 40 years of age and drove a light color, newer model
four-door compact.

Fire truck hits plane after brakes fail
No one was hurt Tuesday afternoon when a fire truck at John Wayne
Airport rolled backward and hit a loaded American Airlines airplane
that was waiting to take off to New York City, officials said.
The fire truck had responded to a medical aid situation at the
terminal at about 12:10 p.m. when its brakes failed and it started
rolling backward, airport spokeswoman Ann McCarley said.
The truck ended up hitting the plane’s engine, causing enough
damage to force its temporary grounding, she said.
“Passengers were never in any danger,” McCarley said.
The passengers aboard American Airlines Flight 250 had to leave
the airplane and return to the terminal before being moved to other
flights, she said.
