Richard Douglass, president of the South Coast division of Centex

Homes, will serve as the president of the Building Industry Assn.,

Orange County chapter, this year. Douglass will function as spokesman

for the chapter, as well as set the tone and direction for the year.

He is a graduate of the construction technology academy at Orange

Coast College ... At the fourth annual Holiday Classic Car Show and

Toy Drive, Geoff Landon of Balboa won second best of show and best

Ford truck honors with his 1956 Ford F-100. Landon received a $200

cash prize and trophies. Costa Mesa winners at the show included Jeff

and Jeannie Weiss, best convertible with their 1969 Ford Mustang;

Dave Wood, best Corvette with his 1969 Chevy Corvette Stingray; and

Tod Cowley, best stock engine with his 1969 Chevy Corvette ... Alison

Q. Chua were named to the Orange Coast College honors list for the

fall semester of 2003. The students were able to maintain a

Stephen E. Rodriguez, a 2000 graduate of Estancia High School, and

his fellow sailors aboard the U.S. aircraft Enterprise home-ported in

Norfolk, Va., helped launch the ship’s first precision-guided

munitions attack since the start of the new year ... Navy Seaman

Recruit Laura A. Allison, daughter of Kathryn A. Allison of Long

Beach and Larry D. Allison of Costa Mesa, has completed Navy basic

training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
