Jarrid Johnson, of Huntington Beach, was selected as a January

student of the month at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana. Johnson

is an honors and advanced placement student who maintains a 3.90 GPA

while being active in community service and athletics. Johnson

participates in the school’s Campus Ministry, taking part in

leadership camps and community outreach projects. He also volunteers

his time to feed the homeless through Mater Dei’s Lions Share

program. Johnson is a three-year member of the varsity football team

and is also a member of the Boy Scouts, where he has earned the rank

of Eagle Scout ... The following undergraduate students, all from

Huntington Beach, have each earned a place on the Dean’s Honors list

at the UC Santa Barbara: Andrea F. Bravo, Rebecca L. Gayle, Ashley N.

Geerken, Jennifer A. Greeley, Victoria C. Heglar, Allyson A. Johnson,

Veronica G. Kim, Ashley M. Rouintree,Christopher R. Veneracion,

Laurie L. Vigen, Robert B. Waltman, Colin M. Whiting, Lori D.

Workman. This honor is reserved for students who maintain a GPA of

3.75 in the College of Letters and Science or a 3.5 GPA in the

College of Engineering.
