Minor slide at Mystic Hills

A minor landslide was reported on the 1300 block of Moorea Way in the

Mystic Hills neighborhood Sunday evening. The earth slid onto Skyline

Rd., which was closed to vehicles throughout the night and also for a

time on Monday. No evacuations were ordered.

The upper drive was closed to traffic until emergency personnel

determined the slide was confined.

Minor damage to the curb, gutter and road were reported.

“We have not determined the cause, but it was awfully wet up

there,” city consulting geologist Hannes Richter said.

The city has asked hillside property owners to cut back, if not

eliminate, irrigation after the Flamingo Drive slide on June 1.
