Corona del Mar wins the Battle of the Bay on the track

CORONA DEL MAR ? The Corona del Mar High track team defeated Newport Harbor in a nonleague Battle of the Bay meet on Wednesday.

The Sea Kings boys won, 72-55, over the Sailors. The CdM girls defeated the Tars, 85-36.

Annie St. Geme’s 10:33.9 finish for Corona del Mar in the girls’ 3,200 meters was the fastest current time in Southern California this season. Jessica Robson was a triple winner for the Newport Harbor girls in the high jump (5-2), 100-meter hurdles (15.8) and long jump (16.3).

In the boys’ competition, Spencer Aguilar led the Sea Kings with wins in the triple jump, the 110 high hurdles and the 300 intermediate hurdles.
