Man killed while crossing street

A transient was killed after being hit by a car on Goldenwest Street just south of Edinger Avenue shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

Randy Levy, 49, was crossing outside of a pedestrian crosswalk on Goldenwest Street when he was hit by a Mercedes Benz driven by a 41-year-old La Habra resident who was uninjured, according to police. Levy, who has no known address, was taken to UCI Medical Center, where he died of accidental blunt force trauma just after 11:45 p.m., supervising deputy coroner Kelly Crawford said. There are no criminal charges pending, according to police.
