The following is from the Nov. 27 meeting of the Laguna Beach Arts Commission.
WORLD AIDS DAY
In commemoration of World AIDS Day on Friday, the arts commissioners will adorn several sculptures throughout town with black and red ribbons, it was announced.
TEMPORARY SCULPTURE AT HEISLER PARK
The commission discussed the timing for the installation and dedication of Gerard Basil Stripling’s sculpture, “Toward the Within” for temporary exhibition at a site in Heisler Park.
The sponsorship of the exhibition at the park has shifted from Laguna Art Museum to the Diane de Bilzan Gallery following the selection of Stripling’s piece, which the commission unanimously decided will be installed this month and dedicated early next year.
